I think he meant that they are pretty aggressive looking compared to a lot of other all-terrains. Most all-terrains I found just look like radials. These Hankooks and the BFG AT look a little more aggressive. Obviously not like a mud tire, but not all of us want mud tires on our trucks.

Thanks for the replies... I'm looking to go with 265/75/16 on stock rims and height.

I'm very tempted but I really like the Duratrak's as well. The Hankook's basically come out to be $60 cheaper per tire. That's money I could use for other things.

I had the BFG A/T's on my last Taco and I can tell you that I didn't find enough difference between the performance of the two (if any) to be worth the extra money and weight per tire. I have a 4-banger so the weight was a concern for me to keep the acceleration. Putting the 5100's on the front makes it look that much better. I got mine on right after Christmas.

what's the consensus... are these better than the stock Rugged Trail that comes on the Tacoma?

Another happy Hankook customer here! I got the Dynapros as well (E) and love em. I had never even heard of em when the guy at Discount Tire Co. mentioned them to me. He said that he had heard nothing but good things about em and now, frankly, I agree. The detailing on the sidewall looks great when all clean and when freshly conditioned with tire shine! You'll love em!

Yeah I would go with the LT tires. I have the P tires and have a couple nicks in the sidewalls from rocks when I really shouldn't.

I personally thought they absolutely sucked in snow. Mud they are good at. Rain they are excellent at.

Here they are on mine. The angle makes them look a tame, but they really are a good looking tire for the price.

I had them on my 93 Trooper for about 100K miles.... (Obviously two sets) but I freakin love those tires! I should have taken them off before I traded for my Taco... DOH!!

So far I have to say I like...:D

I got the P265/75/16 from DT for $663 OTD. Was contemplating the LT265 E Loads but decided to go with the P265. Hopefully that wasn't a mistake, time will tell. But I have to say I think the ride is smoother than the Rugged Trails. So far no rubbing whatsoever although I had already removed my front mud flaps. Noise is about the same as with the stock Rugged Trails, hardly noticeable if at all. Drive straight and don't seem to wonder on the freeway at speeds all the way up to 85mph and no vibration either. Traction seems good although I haven't tested it on anything other than the road so prob too early to tell. They seemed to balance very quickly and with little weight added to each wheel.

The 265/75/16 do look a lot better, it's amazing that the slightly bigger tire makes such a huge difference... at least to me it did.

So far, I am very excited to have gotten these. Now we'll just need to see how they handle offroad and how long they last.

Considering these tires also, does anyone think getting the "P" load is going to be a problem? It will be on a daily driven truck, won't get too crazy offroad but will, nonetheless, get out on trails and stuff. Won't carry heavy loads often, but may have, say, 500 pounds in the bed a couple times a month.

The P-rated tires are rated at more weight than the Tacoma's weight+payload capacity, so I think you're good to go. :D

But I have a Tundra:p, but really though, these tires would be fine on trails and daily driving?
Edit:Just asking because someone said his sidewall was getting chipped easily, so I'm making sure.
