Stuck With Steelies

Hello Gang, I've read through these forums but am still stuck.

I'm looking to get rid of my steel wheel on the '07 access cab and strap on something a little more slick like these

Problem is, what to do about the TPMS sensors. I'd rather do it right and have the things working than stuff them in the PVC tube ( great idea btw ). Someone mentioned something about a TPMS adaptor? I've only seen reference to it once on a forum.

What are my options? Bend over for Toyota and buy new 40 degree sensors, get in a bidding war on ebay for a new set..... ?

Any input is appreciated. Coughing up another $400 for sensors kind of makes you not want to even bother with changing the wheels.

 

Cover the idiot light with a piece of black tape. No problem if you are the type of person who checks their air pressure on a weekly or bi-weekly timeframe. We have got along without the nanny's for 100 years of automotive history.

 

What kind of rim is that? I am looking for some rims and like the looks of that one. Thanks.

Hey tattoo i was wondering the same thing. i had the steelies and when i bought my american racing mojave's i wondered if they would fit in them and they sure did discount tire had the adaptor if you have one by your house check to see if its compatable with that rim.

 

I ended up finding a pair of sensors for alloy wheels on ebay for $100.

Waiting for them to show up, then I can cough up the $1600 for the DC-1 17X9, and BFG 285/70/17s', after the Toytec 3" lift is installed.

 

when i got my new wheels, the place i took them to to get the new ones mounted balanced and put on they just took the sensors out of the stock wheels and put them in my new wheels, if i ever wana go back to stock ill just switch the sensors back to the stock wheels
