SoCal, Cleghorn, Ocotillo, Which Tires?

I am looking for some good AT tires that won't be real loud on the road. I was thinking of getting the GoodYear Wrangler Duratracs because they seem to get some real good reviews lately. However, the only people that seem to really really like them are in the colder climates who get in the snow a lot.

What are some good tires for going to Cleghorn, Ocotillo and Pismo? I occasionally go to big bear for skiing so snow traction is important, but not as important as not tearing up and chunking on hot rocks. I also don't want to spend a fortune and have the tires wear out super quick, which I think the Duratracs might due in SoCal heat.

I know there are tons of opinions on here about tires, but I didn't know if there were SoCal specific opinions for the types of terrain and highways we have here.

Heat and sand for me....I have Nitto Terra Grapplers for a few years now and love them.

So that's two for the BFGoodrich AT, One for Toyo Open country and one for Nitto Terra Grapplers.

 

Toyo and Nitto are made by the same company...both are good tires.
