I was just lookin around craigslist and came across these tires. they are bfg A/ts. the are $550 with some rims. I emailed the guy and asked him what the exact bolt pattern is, but the deal the just seems to good. He claims that there is only 100 miles on them. i plan on asking for more pictures to. what do you guys think?

    Thanks,
    Dan

Yeah, thats why i put this on here. I feel like i cant trust anyone on there. if it was ebay i wouldnt be so worried because i feel that there is a little more security on there, but who knows maybe the guy is just strapped for cash and needs to get rid of them...

If he can send you a scanned copy/pic of the original sales receipt, that's probably a pretty good sign it's legit.

If not - well that could go either way. Some people don't keep receipts. Some people never had one...

Toyota and ford do not have the same lug pattern. So there's no way they fit both toyotas and fords.

    Toyota's bolt pattern is 6 on 139.7, fords are 6 on 135.

It's a great deal to be sure, but not necessarily too good to be true. I bought a full set of those same rims (only 5-lug) for my S10 for $75. Sounds like the guy has them priced for a quick sale (although granted, one would wonder why he's selling them virtually unused). Which begs the question: why are you spending time posting a thread about it and pestering the guy for more pics? They will be GONE to someone who acted on a great deal, not to someone who only talked about it.

you guys watch too much TV...

the seller indicates that his truck died so he has no use for the wheels and tires...

CL is easier to sell on for straight cash as you dont have to deal with the drama of forums telling you what they think you should be asking for...

i buy and sell on CL quite a bit and while there are some weirdos from time to time, 95% of the people i have done business with were legit...

as for lug pattern, $550 is certainly worth meeting with him and doing a test fit... if they don't fit, you have a more definitive answer and all you lose out on is your time...

if they do fit, then you just scored new tires and wheels...

    x2

i once scored a pair of King resi shocks for $400 cuz someone posted a similar question on a CL ad...

i swooped on them while everyone else speculated on whether it was too good to be true... turned out the guy just needed the cash to pay a bill in collection...

    ya snooze, ya lose...

LOL, that's scarry, but prudent! :D

I generally sell stuff pretty cheap off CL, because I want to move it. And the better the price, the quicker it sells and you don't have to deal with the CL trolls.

Go snag you a great deal, Dan! :)

Actually some fords are 6x5.5 which is the same as 139.7. You need to check center bore though too

Edit: Your center bore should be 108mm or 4.25"

I just purchases 4 new cooper discovery a/t for 300 off CL. They were brand new w/ the stickers on still. Some great deals can be had on CL, just have to be careful where/who you are buying from. Packing something is def. a good thing when meeting someone. I tend to try and meet them in a busy public place such as a grocery store parking lot.

If he does respond, like i said above, make sure he was running them on a toyota. He obviously doesn't know anything about bolt patterns. If they fit a ford, they won't fit your truck.

Yeah i may email him again just asking to see them. i feel like he didnt reply because he dosnt know the bolt pattern. But i feel like if he was serious about selling them he would have accutally replied regardless.
