I have enjoyed this forum for a few months now. Incredible wealth of helpful information. Thanks to all!

I have a 2004 Doublecab Prerunner with 17" Hyper Silver Sequoia Wheels.
Something has happened to them. Somehow they have been stained behind the clear coat or something? It is on all 4. Some worse than others. It looks like something spilled on them, but I have no idea what? I have tried every cleaner imaginable.I really love the wheels, but these stains bother me. Anyone have any ideas of how to clean them? If Not, Here are my options. Tell me what you would do.

    1. Live with it. They don't look to bad from a distance. Cost - $0

    2. Have them Powder coated. I really only want to do this if I can get the Hyper Silver color. Can that be done. Cost - $200 - $300 I think?

    3. Sell them for whatever I can get and replace them with some 17" Chrome FJ wheels. I have access to a set of 4 for $450 right now. I would think I could still get something for the wheels I have. (Yes, I would love to replace with the same Sequoia wheels, but I can't touch them for less than $800! (Side note, any fitment issues with these FJ wheels on my 2004 prerunner? The only thing I have found on this site is they stick out 15mm further, which is not a problem for me.) Cost - $200 - $450

Thanks in advance for any and all advice and opinions.
(Mods, I did put this in 1s Gen and Wheels section to get more advice, I hope that is OK?)

I would talk to a powder coater and see if he can match the color and redo them. I really like the hyper silver on those wheels. I looked for a while to get some for my truck and finally gave up. Any that I found were higher than a set of after market wheels.

Tried all of the most aggressive cleaners out there. Including Meguiars Wheel Brightener. I decided to keep the wheels anyway. I based that decision on how they look from a normal viewing distance. Thanks for all of the advice.

Thanks! A lot of man hours and it is a two wheel drive that stays on paved roads in Dallas. A little easier for me than you guys in the 4wd club going off road, which I am jealous of.
