You have a lift though....I've read two recent posts where folks rubbed with 4.0 backspacing because the wheels were pushed out too far and have a wider arc when turning.

I've also seen some instances where people had no issues with this setup, so it might be hit or miss.

I just bought the truck so I am going to do wheels and tires first 265/75/16 Duratracs and whatever wheel I decide on, It's hard to choose. Planning on ICON coil-over setup for lift. Any ideas for wheels for a MGM? Just found these:

Gotcha, I was just kidding really. I found some new wheels with 4.5" backspacing that have basically the same design. I think I'll make a wheel poll to help me decide! Thanks for all the help!

haha yea everyone left we went to class! - i got icons on mine and love them - why would you get wheels with 4.5 backspacing instead of the ones you were looking at like mine with 4" ? 4.5" backspace means they will be sucked in more than the 4".

Also if you get the icons or any lift up to like 3 " you might as well throw her on 285's :D

I was under the impression that 4.5" was better because it moved the wheel out more than 4". Like I said I am new to all this, thanks for the clarification! As far as the 285's go, i just dont want to take a huge hit on mpg, from your experience is it not that bad?

is yours 4x4? mines 2wd and if you got icons and 285 and those rims we would basically be twins and i get 18-19 per tank and i check almost every fill up - and them some probably since the mileage reading is slightly off due to the larger tire ( you are actually driving farther than it says u have)

4" backspace means it sticks out .5" farther than a 4.5" backspace would

    Because I told him this:

I think you'll be fine with the lift, but I've seen issues with 4.0 backspacing on non-lifted setups.
