Lol now I'm confused. :notsure: Not getting the lift yet just wheels and tires. Sounds like they need to be at the same time!

dont worry about that the more it sticks out the less it will rub no matter what set-up you have - just dont go for that ridiculous hawaiin look where it sticks out like a foot haha!
-If you are going to lift it i would highly recommend getting the rims, new larger tires, and lift on at the same time it makes things alot easier.

I've already said it in three posts on this thread......

I have seen multiple instances where people who had 4.0 backspacing on stock suspension rubbed because the wheels sat out too far, and the tires (even 265's) rubbed on the outside of the tread.

I've never seen this issue on lifted trucks with 4.0 backspacing.

although if you are sticking with a 265 tire you can get the wheels first then the lift a while later ya know

That is untrue. Think about when the wheel is at full lock turning right.Let's say the outer edge of the left tire is 1 inch away from hitting the fender plastic at lock. If the wheels now stick out 1" further, then the tire will rub on the outside edge at full lock.

Please don't make it sound so ghey....

I've also seen 4.0 backspacing setups on stock height that do NOT rub....it's hit or miss...probably has more to do with how aggressive the tread of the tire is.

I had the 4" backspaced rims with 275 tires before i got lifted and 285s and never had any problems so i think it should be fine but all at once is better especially to get some bigger tires
