265 75R16 VS 255 85R16

    265 75R16 VS 255 85R16
    Can anyone tell me the major difference between these two sizes of tires and what the advantage of one over the other is?

    I don't have a lift right now, but may in the future. Maybe a 2 inch lift, max would be a three inch lift.
    I would be getting new tires way before I get a new lift, so I am wondering what size tire to run and what the advantages of either tire may be.

    Narrower tires are better in foul weather. However, the 255-85 may be too tall for stock suspension. There are many more brand options for the 265 tire.

    the 255s are 33s (33. something actually)

    And the 265s are a 32 (31. something)

    Like mentioned up top, you'd need a lift for 255/85s...but not the 265/75s :cool:
