what tire size could i fit on a 2.5" lift?

I have a 2004 doublecab 2x4. Im about to purchase a 2.5"leveling kit as well as 1.5" blocks for the rear. Im looking to put 285/75/16 Definity Dakota m/t. Will they fit? aslo, what does backspacing have to do with it?

is it a prerunner? i have 285/50R20 on mine. im selling them cause i dont want 20 any longer. but they fit. so 31's or 33's of you add spacer. i got the rough counrty 2.5 lift on mine. they only silghtly rub when backing up and cutting it to the right. but its not bad.

if you want to run 33's your gonna need wheel spacers. unless you get after market rims with a different offset. if you dont you'll be hitting the upper a-arm. my 285's are 32.7"inches tall which is about the same as some 33's and im about 1/4" away from the a-arm with the truck on the ground. if i lift in in the air the tires hit the a-arm and wont turn. what are you looking for? look or function?

I want it for both look and function. I just want to make sure i get the biggest tire i can. I just didnt know spacers would be so expensive.

Will i have trouble with the tires hitting the wheel wells? will i have to shave them down?
