chrome rims

Are chrome rims hard to keep clean? I keep my truck fairly clean part of the time, but this only includes washing my truck every few weeks. Do chrome rims have to be cleaned every few days in order to look good? Tell me about your chrome rim experiences

chrome is the easiest wheel to keep clean. polished wheels can be a nightmare, theyre very succeptible to spotting and to keep them shining you need to polish them frequently otherwise they loose their luster. unless you get them powdercoated clear or sealed then youre worry free.

although IMO, i like the shine of a polished wheel better then a chrome wheel

My wifeís previous car had steel wheels with hubcaps, we hated them so she bought some wheels. I did not know when she bought them they were polished . For the remainder of that summer every Friday night i would spend an hour or so polishing them back to a shine. I have never hated a set of wheels so completely in my life.

Once when the car was dirty she thought she would do me a favor while I was at work and take it to be washed at an automated car wash. They did something and caused the wheels to get a nasty haze. It took a little over 3 hours to get them to shine again. Although I donít think they ever shined quite like before.

Anyway I would personally never own polished wheels again, but thatís me anyway. Good luck with your choice.

They are easy to keep clean, but ugly IMO. Flat black or teflon is easy to keep clean and beautiful IMO.

Stay away from polished unless you like rubbing wheels for an hour every time you wash.
