16 x 8 vs 16 x 7 ????

I have just standard wheels on my 07 tacoma but want to buy some wheels that are 16x8. My tire size is 255\70 r 16 Will I have to buy new tires if I go with anything other than 16 x 7?

No sir! Might notice a little more pull on the tires they wont be as bubbled out but theyll work, my buddies got 235's on a 10.5" wheel on his sti.. Youll be all set.

 

so the 16x7 makes the tires look wider than 16x8??

 

I have 16x7 and i cant tell the diffrence from an 8

 

16 x8 will look wider...

 

Very slightly wider.

Check the tire manufacturers website, and under "Specs" there will be a approved rim width range for each tire size.
