I ordered my toytec 3" lift and TC UCAs so hopefully ill get em on soon. Now I gotta get new wheels and tires to fill 'er out. So Ive searched around and came to the conclusion that the goodyear duratracs were a very good all terrain tire, good mpgs, not too loud, and good in the snow. Plus, I think they look pretty cool too
For the wheels, its a much tougher choice since its basically what looks good and if itll fit. I want some black rims to go with my black truck and found the renegade 6s in flat black were pretty sick. My personal preference is more tire than more wheel, so Id like to go with 16s if that would be okay.
First question, will the 16s fit alright without too much rubbing/hitting the calipers or UCAs? or will the 17s be better? and for cost of factoring in wheel and tires as well, are the 16s or 17s less expensive? or is it negligible?
For the tires, are the duratracs a good choice? I will be doing a lot of highway driving, with trails/beaches every so often, but not a serious off roader. Also, Im in Maryland now so something good in snow would be nice for the winter. I see many positive reviews, but also hear good things about the nittos and BFGs.
Lastly, what would be the best place to get tires/wheels from? an online source or order at a store? any specific recommendations? Some said discount tire is good, but Im not in socal anymore and there are none around here Thanks everyone for the help!
