285/75/16 or 32-11.5-15

As with most things on my truck I've come to a point that I think is worthy of debate. I will be getting new rims and tires when my rear lift is done and paid for and I have two options.

1. 3rd gen 4runner rims and 285/75/16 "warden a/ts" (basically treadwrights version o the bfg)

2. 15x8 granite alloy ga9s (or similar) and 32-11.5-15 bfg a/ts

I'm not looking for a massive tire just something that'll give me a little more clearance and traction.

The obvious benefit to the 285s is that they would be cheaper, as well a some used 4runner rims.

I don't know if I need that tall of a tire though, and if I did I'd like to upgrade to a standard size tire, such as a 33-10.5 or possibly 33-12.5.

That set up will probably be around ~700-800

The granite alloys or other 15" rim are sure to be a bit more expensive, and treadwright doesn't carry 32"s so I'd be left to buy brand new tires which would also drive the price up.

That set up will probably cost ~1000-1200

I need some help deciding. Anyone have a good middle ground for me? I've also been looking at wheels and can't decide what I would want in an aftermarket rim. I like the beadlock look even if it is a bit poserish, and I like the ga9s because of the bead ring, only problem with those is that they have 3.75" backspacing and I'd like to keep it to 4"

I say 285/75/16s. I'm about to get the treadwright warden a/ts too. 33/10.5/15s or 255/85/16s would be what I would get if the treadwrights weren't such a good deal.

 

I wish the 5 star rims came in 15". I'd be all over that and get some 33-10.5s. It would also be pretty cool to paint them gunmetal grey
