Did your Duratrac's feel spongy at first?

Just had the Duratrac's put on yesterday. They feel kinda floaty? I know it is a jump from the rugged trails 265/70/16 to the duratrac's 265/75/16. The tire looks great haven't had time to try them out yet. Tire pressure is at 34f 30r. Any input would be much appreciated.

they are a softer tire so yes they feel a little more "spongey" but you get used to it.

No need for more pressure since your truck weighs the same.

close to 8k and wearing fine. you're alignment and what not will all be factors in how they wear. im also in hot ass arizona so the streets are a lot hotter but the tires seem to be doing and holding up fine. still look like new.

Here in Reno it will get up to 100-105 not as hot as you and down to -10 to 20's, plus snow.

The OP is questioning the pressure recommended by Discount Tire. There is no need to run a higher pressure than what the sticker on the truck says.

The sticker on the inside of the door jam has the pressure for the stock tires that came on the truck.

I go by whats stated on the tire or by doing the chalk test.

I thought you were talking about me increasing the pressure of the tires when going on long drives.

Yes but the slight change of size doesn't need a higher pressure. A chalk test is the best way to find out though.

The pressure listed on the tire is the maximum allowed pressure. If you are running the maximum then you are using too much pressure.
