I'm running my KM2's at 50 psi on street and I wheel them at 20 psi. I am also running them on 8" wide wheels with 4.5" BS and there was minimal rubbing at ride height with 3" of lift. Like XXXX said though lift doesn't matter unless you never leave pavement anyway. Once you offroad you will use your travel and stuff the tire up higher in the fender well than it sits at factory height.

Tyler: Cool, Let us know how you like them. I have a set of Dura-Tracs in 265/75R16 as well as a set of Coper ST in 255/85 that I have on the truck right now. Still have not done any worthty off-roading with the 255/85 because I have flare rubbing to correct first. You think I will need the cab chop? Running about 2" lift over stock, 4.5" backspace 8x16 wheels. I had the Dura-Tracs on at Glamis, was impressed with them at 20psi and in 4WD-Hi. I do like the increased altititude with the 255's, but have to fix the flare rubbing before I rip 'em off!

If you get properly backspaced 7" wide wheels you don't rub fenders, cab mounts, or even need a lift because lifts don't have anything to do with fitting tires.

When looking for 16" wheels that fit on a Tacoma 90% of them are 8" wide and 4.5" BS or zero offset. The only 7" wide wheels I have ever seen ar stockers and my SR5 stock steel wheels are too ugly to put on MY truck. So what wheels would you be talking about anyway?

The best looking, cheapest, best fitting, most durable OE wheel.... :D

Sorry your tastes won't allow you to use a perfectly good readily available wheel, but it works out better for guys like me. People like you are why I was able to get (8) of these wheels with caps and lug nuts for $100. They may not be the lightest or prettiest but if I smack a rock and bend a rim I can just grab a BFH and fix it instead of needing a new wheel.

Even "people like Me" have to conform to the fit and function laws. I will be keep an eye out for some used stock Tacoma wheels in 16x7 now and if I can get them for $100 it will be a good investment because I am some kind of a tire/wheel whore anyway...

I have about 15 wheels for my Tacoma and all but 2 of them have rubber on them. No tire/wheel whore here :anonymous:

Just traded a OE spare triangle type wheel with a brand new dunflop on it for a Interco 255/85/16 on a OE spare with the holes in it. Guy I know was trading in his truck and needed a spare that would fit under the bed. My win. Now I have (6) wheels/tires on 255/85/16.

Had I not gotten the deal I did on my current wheels & tires I'd have gone with Steel wheels for this same reason.

I blew off 18" of bead on my old Exploder when I smacked into a curb in the snow....after that I said I'd never buy another aluminum wheel, but I did buy one OE 17" sport to have a matching spare.

I've been wheeling the shit out of my raceline raptors and they seem to be handling the rocks well. They just seem to scratch without major damage to the aluminum. I think it has to do with how the spokes are designed to make it look kind of like it has a rock ring. Plus my lugnuts are so deep in the wheel they are impossible to catch on a rock.

Yes, seriously going to get spacers to push my wheels out another 3/4". I love the idea of a taller tire but want to push them out a little farther as I'm losing some width by going with the 255. I'd probably prefer to go 1" or possibly 1.25" if I could find any pics, but like you said, I'm concerned with ripping my fenders off. Keep in mind, I'm the mall crawling guy with the "off-road" model prerunner. I go camping about 6 times a year but that's all the off-roading my truck sees. I use my truck for hauling stuff around and for work, but I want the 255s and spacers mainly because I like the way it looks. Call me crazy, call me a poser...just being honest.

So the question, I know the one guy posting with the 1st gen wheels (4.5 back spacing) doesn't rub. Any running a 16x7 wheel with either spacers or back spacing equivalent to 4.25 or 4?

    Thanks again for everyone's help.

Those are the KM2s? And it looks like you have some lift in the front? Looks good!
How is ride comfort and noise?

Had some rubbing while driving.. So I decided to stuff the tires and see where I needed to trim. This is full stuff on the bumps stops. The tire is on the firewall and there is no turning the tires at all.
Will be tubbing the firewall to clear the tires so I will have no rubbing at full stuff and so I can turn the wheel with out rubbing. How some of you say you don't rub is amazing to me. Maybe you don't off road..

Alignment is a big part of it. I know my alignment is way way off but I'm getting rubbing on the opposite side than you.

I'm waiting to get my new tires to get the alignment done. I'm hoping that will happen in the next month or so.
