I went with 265/75-16 I think it is a 31.7" tire. This way I will keep my original spare and it wont cost me 1100.00

My 255/85-16 KM2s will be here today! I should be able to get them put on tomorrow, and then I'll take a bunch of pics.

I see your problems... 1, you picked an automatic... 2, SUPERCHARGER FTW.... Power and shifting problems solved.

I am switching to 255 here soon from 285, I am hoping cooper comes out with the 255 STT Max. I am stepping down from a full on mud tire to something it bit more road friendly. My Taco isn't my offroader anymore, I still do overland expo with it though. I have plate bumpers at both ends, full skids, tire carrier, etc and I am getting 17mpg on the freeway and 20-24mpg in the city.

Got my 255 KM2s put on. I like them so far. I notice a bit more harshness than with the rugged trails and of course they are a little noisy. I don't notice any difference in acceleration in my double cab v6 auto. They are mounted on the stock Offroad wheels. IMO the tall skinny tires look funny but i definitely prefer function over form. I can't wait to try them off road. I'll get some pics soon. My truck is covered in salt at the moment.
Ive never had mud tires before. Time will tell if I will enjoy them enough to put up with the disadvantages during commutes and road trips.

That's awesome! They are finally out!

Nic from expo portal said he bought them at discount tire. Hopefully my local discount tire can get their hands on some...

How many miles are you guys getting out of your KM2's? I'm considering this tire purely because I think the tall skinny tire looks bitchin. I dont do a whole lot of off-roading though. Am i nuts for spending the extra coin on the KM2's or should I just get the All-terrains?

I tried dyna beads balancing beads with my 255 KM2s. They didn't work. I made sure to keep the beads and the inside of the tire dry. I even called innovative balancing to make sure I ordered the right part number. Waste of money. So I pulled them out and had firestone balance the tires. They did a great job.

Hey guys I'm trying to decide where to mount my 255/85-16 spare. For those that mounted it underneath are you having any problems with it hitting the differential or exhaust pipe?

Not hitting the exhaust, but I've chopped mine just over the axle. It might gently rub the differential, but I find mine only does on rare occasion. When I crank my tire up into place, I use a ratchet strap to pull it towards the bumper and then crank it up. Seems to help out a bit. I also drop my tire from under the bed if I'll be doing any offroad travel.

So I got myself some new shoes for my ride. My 285/75R16 Fierce Attitudes were really worn out and it was time for a change. I picked up a set of 255/85 R16 Cooper ST Maxx. I really like these, a very aggressive AT but not as aggressive as an MT. Plus they are made on the STT carcass so they are very tough. Tomorrow I get my alignment done.

So far just driving around today I really like them. The truck is smoother and quieter already.

I will give you an off road report next week when we take them and the truck up to Sedona and run Broken Arrow.
