Anyone Running BFG Mudders KM2???

just wondering how they do with highway driving(i already know that they kick a** in everything else)...???

 

they are fine highway, actually kind of quiet for a mud terrain, but they dont kickass completely everywhere else. In wet pavement conditions ice and snow they are not good and break loose easily.

 

i currently have the reg BFG mudders and in northern utah we get 300 + inches of snow. you just have to be smart.

i sure learned it fast though on the first snow.... i went to turn and kept going even though the tires were turned


and the KM2's scorred higher on everything than the reg mudders

 

I know it's not what you asked in the thread but I think you'd be fine with km2s. With all that snow though duratracs look to be a good option. I've also heard that the Goodyear MTR's with Kevlar are pretty beastly in snow and mud so maybe look into those. Iirc Eric (relentless fab) siped his km2s...maybe ask him how they perform.

i kinda like the beastly look of those KM2's..... but i have to travel 50 miles a day 5 times a week for one year..... but im willing to pay for a bestly tire if it gets eaten up in 15,000 miles

 

They are a sweet tire for sure. Especially once you get into the 12"+ width range.

 

I got no problems with mine.. Highway they are fine, they hum but not loud.

 

I really like my KM2s. They perform better than my old procomp MTs and they ride 10x better on the hwy

 

sweet sounds like thats my tire..... im thinking about 33x12.5x15 on a 3" c/o lift and 1" BL.... thoughts?

 

I was running them on my 91 Chev K2500, 35" Km2 and they were great on road/off road escaping zombies runnning over mounds of zombies whatever you need to do they are the best in my opinion,

 

im not too sure about 1st gen fitment. Im running a 33x12.2 and had to cab mount chop and cut pinch weld and fender. In only about 2.5" up front

 

Quieter than most MTs. Mileage is still shit. Nothing surprising, really.

 

im thinking about either using ebaich or ome 882 coils then that 1" BL and i think i can clear them pretty easily.... but idk about when im wheeliing?

 

The body lift will help a little but you'll probably still have to trim a little. No big deal really.

 

trim to get the tire in or trim so i dont rub when im wheeling?


and oh ill be doing 4.5 backspacing..

 

id imagine you'll be good for daily driving. Wheelin is where u would run into trouble

 

oh and i forgot im also doing the lift enchancer but it only adds a 1/2"-5/8".... but i really want 33's cuz i like the 12.5 wide tires.... for common 32's the widest it is 11.5... i think

 

Maybe very slight trimming for daily driving (turns and stuff) and then a little more for when you're flexed out.

 

I'be had about all of them the original bfg / km1 were about the best tire I have ever owned. The km2 are louder and are total shit on the hard pack, I took the off at 40 percent because I didn't want to run the another winter. The Goodyear duratracs are quiet and snow flake traction rated. Now mind u I'm takin on a f350 tacomas are even.more quirky on hard pack. The duratacs have great traction in snow trust me I broke a Dana 60 frt shaft. But I would go km1 if they still made them. Only bad thing about duratracs not.that many sizes yet. I just got a good deal on sum ome 882 and they gave like 3.5 lift with no winch bumper combo way to tall and gunna eat cv's so gunna have to take them off till I get bumper. My tacoma is a v6 xtra cab and I know that they don't rec installing w/o bumper but I had to lol thought they were just referring to riff ride. Jmo hope it helps.

 

really??? with a 4.5" lift( 3" 882 coils/ 10mm lift enchancer/1" body lift) i still have to trim???
