is 3.75 backspacing to much?

Im ditching my wheels on my truck for the polished wheelers offroad wheels. My wheels stick out way to much right now so I want the wheel to look flush against my fenders and not stick out. Im putting on 31x10.5x15 tires so will 3.75 look good?

Thanks guys i will order tonight if so!

I just want them flush and the wheels I want are from wheelers and they say its for a 96-04 so I would think they would fit well, but the 3.75 backspacing made me think. Because the whole reason im switching wheels in the first place is because they stick out way to far.

If you're running stock wheels right now a 3.75" BS wheel will stick your wheels out farther.

Subbed. I'm glad you brought this up I can't find a 15" rim with more than 3.75" backspacing.

from the online tire size calculator

I don't know what your running now but a 31/10.5/15 is a little wider the a stock 265/70/16

Really the only way to have that tire flush with the fender is a fender flair when running aftermarket 15's

Thanks jlee, I'm running welds right now and they stick out really far, I can only tighten the lug down 3 times before its tight which is bad. I just want a wheel that won't stick out all that much. How far do you guys think a wheel with 3.75 bs will stick out?

Well are you saying a 15x8? With your truck having no flairs 3.75 on a 8" wide rim are going to stick out about 2" to 3".

I have 15x10 with a 3.76 back spacing and with my flairs my tires stuck out about 5 1/2 to 6" but I'm running 12.5's so I'm just doing it in my head and saying about 2" to 3"

Ya thats what I was thinking for my setup. Im looking at these wheels http://www.wheelersoffroad.com/tacom...TINUE+SHOPPING

I dont mind the wheel/tire coming out a extra 1-2 inches but 3'' would look really bad imo.

Well the 3.75" would stick out just a little on a 01 to 04 with the flairs so you should be sticking out about 2" to 3". And a 4" BS would only be 1/4" so not much differnt. I say buy the wheels you want and if they stick out too far for you buy some fenders flairs. Problem solved
