So I've done a bunch of searching around and also got an answer from Jegs customer service.

The Steel Black Rock Type 8 wheels that I posted WILL fit a 05+ 4x4 Tacoma.

Black Rock Type 8 Steel rim in 16x8 weighs 37 pounds.

Stock TRD Off-road rim weighs roughly 25 pounds - this is something I gathered from several different areas. All numbers I found were about the same, give or take a pound.

Black Rock Yuma rim in 16x8 weighs 29 pounds.

So I will stick with the Yumas to try and limit the addition of unsprung weight to my truck. With the Type 8 steelies, I'm adding more than 45 lbs. of rims and and a bunch more with the slightly larger and beefier tires that Ill use (Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs). My gas mileage is bad enough. lol

That looks pretty good. Hopefully mine should look about the same since my tire will be almost an inch wider.

Im still waiting on the wheels. I was told I should have them by the second week of August. This is certainly taking a long time. They arrived in California on Monday and will take a few days to get through customs. Oh well, just gives me more time to save up for tires.

Fyi, the pro comp steelies won't fit without 1/2" wheel spacers in the front. Neither will recentered H1 beadlocks, at least on 05+ Tacos. IMG_0120_54aa1b65320b2a0ad873cec0671351ac8f81be6c.jpg

I've got 4 extra 1/4" spacers if you need them.

Got the wheels in yesterday. They look great... in the box lol. They also feel lighter than I expected. However, I just bought a motorcycle, so tires might be a while. lol

FYI, Soft 8 or Type 8 wheels have historically never cleared the caliper face of the Tacomas....

the holes are dimple die and the inside lip of the holes hit the brake vein on the caliper face...

the 8 hole alloys will clear...

the steels, you will need wheel spacers like Username (Logan) mentioned above...

sweet looking wheels... definitely not the Soft8... they look like alloys... might be why they seemed lighter?

just saw your edit... yah, they are alloys...

the holes are cut/cast differently than the Soft8s...

as Logan showed in his post, the true steel Soft8 will need the wheel spacer...

the alloy version the OP got is a great wheel...

running a set of the 8069s in a 16x8 and did not need to grind/shave the caliper...granted, they only clear by maybe 1/16"

Michael - I dropped you a PM. I would also LOVE to see a parallel body shot to see how far they stick out past the fender.
