Got some new Buckshot shoes

A couple of weeks ago, I picked up some 17" FJ steelies at a local FJ Landcruiser swap meet gathering. A local member helped me out with a really good deal on some Maxxis Buckshot tires, 265/70/17. I got them mounted yesterday and I took a few shots today(nice and dirty) to share with you guys. I've only driven about 75miles so far, but on the streets, they're not as bad as I thought for being MT. I've never had MT tires before so I can't really compare. However, I'm sure on the trails/mud they will perform better than my bald michelin tires. It's stock height right now, but I'm hoping to give it a slight lift pretty soon. Btw, don't mind my mis-match lugs, lol.

They're good tires, it's what most people use around here for tires between 31"-35"s, They aren't the longest lasting mud tire out there but they are very durable against everything else. Watch on how they wear though, some have been known to wear unevenly very quick if you don't watch.

Thanks for the tip. I was planning to rotate them at every oil change. If i can get close to 40k, I'll be more than happy.

 

nice! i read some glowing reviews of those tires.

 

My dad had some on his tundra for a good while, then took them off when he traded it in. Put them on my truck with maybe 30% tread left and 3/4 still have at least another 10,000 on them but one of them wore down really quick to the point that it is bald in the middle with only side-lugs left. I think you could definitely get more than 40,000 with rotating at every oil change.
