Tire PSI

Hi, folks...
I just got a new Tacoma prerunner 4X2 regular cab with the aluminum wheel upgrade. The tires are the regular P245/75R16. The owner's manual states the PSI should be 29 for the front and the back. The tire itself has a max PSI of 51. In my old Ranger, I used the max PSI of 35 and regularly got 30+ MPG outta that four banger. My question is this...Has anyone used a higher PSI in their Tacoma and got better MPG as a result? I always thought that running the max PSI in your tires was the thing to do for better fuel economy. Any thoughts???

it may be a bit of a rougher ride, but, yeah, you'll probably get decent mileage that way. not sure that id run it @ 51 psi though, maybe a little lower than that??!
