Before i had my rims p/c'ed i painted mine. I had to touch up a few times.
If you have to re-do them next time try index cards, its alot faster then having to paper and tape them up..

I totally thought the same thing about the tires but figured you already thought of that. And yeah, those wheels look awesome and a great job at getting your style thrown on your truck. Great job!

You can do it like brunes said which is pretty much how I did it. But for those of you who are wondering this is how I did it.

I cleaned all my wheels with mineral spirits (you can buy it at walmart) to get all the grease and grime off the wheels. THE WHEELS MUST BE CLEAN! I also cleaned my tires with a tire cleaner and used toothbrush to get the area betwen the lip and the tire.

Then I taped off the wheels with painters tape and covered the tire with newspaper (pictures) and then lightely coated the wheels with primer. About 3 coats of primer should be good. Let that dry.

Then I applied 3-4 light coats of the bronze wheels paint and let the wheel dry between each coat. Let them cure overnight and you're good to go.

I didn't do any sanding at all or apply a clear coat. I didn't do the clear coat so the wheels would be easier to touch up and I didn't sand because honestly, if you're good enough with a paint can, you can do a great job without sanding.

The wheel paint is a specialty paint that is made for wheels. They will hold up for a while and you will have to touch them up, but that's just part of the game. Good luck with you wheels and post some pictures when you've got 'em done. Hope this hopes a little.

Any worry about having rocks kick up in the rear? I saw a lifted Tacoma at the dealer the other day without the flaps and it did look tough!

Well, I never really thought about that to be honest...but I just really like how it looks.
