BFG Rugged Terrain 265/70-16 VS. Hankook Dyna Pro ATM 265/75-16

Edit: Rugged Trail T/A

Long story short, I have a 2011 DC Sport 4x4 with 5100's, Front is set at 1.75. I have the rear leaf TSB.

Just purchased a set of TX Pro wheels with 4500 miles, Iam wondering if it's worth the upgrade to buy the Hankooks in 265/75-16 brand new vs. the BFG Rugged Trail T/A 265/70-16 that are currently on them.
Iam not a fan of the white lettering on the BFG's.

Iam in the Northwest so I see lots of rain and snow.
My friend is willing to buy the BFG's for $450 so I would be out of pocket $350 or so for the upgrade.

Thoughts?

Thanks, Ryan

Hmmm, tough one. Im a fan of both tires. But if u buy new ones u can get the warranty.

Edit: rugged trails? If so, ditch those pos's. I thought u mean bfg at.

Also, 265/75 looks a lot better imo.

Yes, after 10,000 miles expect to get flats from sharp rock and anything else... I got rid of mine at 20,000 miles after three failures (starting at 13,000 miles)... As a tire, they wear out at 25-30,000 miles if you keep then until they get a rediculous amount of flats (which I did on my 2001 Tacoma).

I have Hankook Dynapro ATm's and absolutely love them. Don't reward BFG/Michelin any more as long as they do such a poor job with the Rugged Trail TA's!

Can I keep the front flaps with 275?
I don't want rubbing issues...
These will be on TX Pro Wheels

The flaps are going to come off as soon as you do some serious four wheeling, so you might as well remove them yourself before they get pulled off on rocks, ruts or the weight of mud!

Well, that is a better tire than their Rugged Trail TA... but it is still a BFG. I think giving some business to a smaller tire company who has made a great product is worth considering... Michelin (BFG) is the world's giant tire company... and if you study history, will see was the route of the Vietnam war!

Nobody talks about them but my truck came with Falken High Country's ... the guy who had it before me swapped the stocks for these at 10k miles. I'm at 20k now and I love the tires. Great reviews also from most sites, ie: tirerack.com

I'll be replacing them this winter but only because they're 245's and I want 265's.
