OK I recently bought a Quad Cab 2006 TRD Sport and ordered some series 52 Pro Comp 17x8 wheels, I am going to run the stock 265/65 17 tires for a while but eventually want to buy a bigger tire.

I drive about 95 miles a day on the highway and was just wondering what would be the best 265/70 17 tire for all purpose use, I don't plan on doing much off roading but I do drive in a lot of snow and do some beach driving, any suggestions on what the best tire for me would be?

    Thanks in advance.

Anyone? I am new to trucks so know nothing about truck tires.

Did some searches would just like some additional opinions, thanks.

Looking at something along these lines:

    General Grabber AT 2 (On-/Off-Road All-Terrain)

That's a great tire.... had them before.

Could also go with the BFG AT KO... very popular tire and for a very good reason. keep them balanced and rotated and its not uncommon to get 65-75k+ miles out of them. nice aggressive look for an AT too.

Thanks, liking the $150 price tag of the General Grabber AT 2 or possibly some Kumho Road Venture SAT KL61s better.

I second this. Just got mine on and am very happy with them at the moment! Obviously no snow use yet, but they will see a fair amount in a few months time ;)

Perhaps the best all purpose/ inexpensive tire I have ever had. They passed my snow, mud, sand, quiet highway tests... and look almost new at 10,000 miles. I have an Off Road so mine are 265/75-16".

95 miles a day on highway?

    Michelin LTX.

Quiet, long lasting, tough, m+s decent traction in the snow.

Or, Goodyear Duratracs are very well regarded in the snow.

Ok I am going to look into buying these. The stock Michelins on my new truck look great for driving in nicer climate. Thank you!

x2 on the Michelins based on the amount of highway driving you do. Otherwise, Cooper AT3's are serving me pretty well at the moment, they're quiet on the road and perform great in the wet (snow evaluation to come in a couple months but every Cooper tire I've ever owned has done great in snow).

After shopping around I think I am going to go with a set of Firestone Destination A/Ts, for what they will cost me and what I am getting they are the best deal/tire for me right now.
