Check out the "Retread Tires Debate" thread here in the tire forum. I have done a crap ton of research on all of this. For those that say they will never trust a retread, you better not fly commercial anymore. Almost all aircraft tires are retreads. The process that TreadWright uses to bond the tread to the carcass is near identical to the way that new tires are produced. Some research has shown that the carcass of a tire actually gains strength over time (until about the 6 year mark).

As soon as I can afford it, I'm going to run the 265/70R17 Guard Dogs in load range C.

Look online for reviews... I found one in 48 hours of researching them... A lot of haters just because they are retreads but all the haters have never ran them...

How many miles do you have on these so far and how are they wearing? I looked at buying a set of these for my first gen but everyone scared me away from them.

I made my way to the grassy median in the middle because that was the closest place to go.

here is what the tire looked like.

These tires have about 8000miles or so. Treadwright will be hearing from me in the am.

There are over 10,000 miles now and stroll lots of tread left. The heavy rains out here are nothing compared to yours, but in our rains they handle great. The carcass' are Toyo mt.

they wheel great (i run 12-15psi). very stickey tire on the rocks, good traction in wet and loose conditions, and unlike some past tires i've run, i have yet to chunk the thread lugs from any spinning on rocks

yes. 285/70/17, with D-range BFG A/T casings. i inquired about nitto Terra grapler casings, but they told me they were not currently getting nittos in that size. BFG was my second choice though, so i'm happy.
