iNTERESTED IN TIRE SIPPING WHAT IS YOUR EXPERIENCE????

I CONSTANTLY HEAR HOW SIPPING YOUR 4 TIRES HELPS IN TRACTION ON ICE, PACKED SNOW AND ALSO ALLOWS THE TIRES TO RUN COOLER IN THE SUMMER INCREASING THE TIRE LIFE AT LEAST 5000 MILES. I HAVE ALSO HEARD THAT DRIVING LONG DISTANCES ON GRAVEL WILL RESULT IN TIRE TREAD FLYING OFF. WHAT IS YOUR EXPERIENCE.

If you have all terrain, or other aggressive treads, and the tires are not siped, water will get "trapped" in the tread (if you're driving on rain, wet snow or slush) and thus increase the chances of hydroplanning.

I've only run BFG all terrains for 20 years now and siped every one of them. They've been great for me.

 

I have the standard rugged terrain on now. Previously I have used the All terrain and really liked them. Do you have experience with the rugged terrain tire and sipping. Not sure but I feel you are saying sipp them right??

I've never owned a set of tires that wasn't sipped and also never had tread fly off or felt they wore down pre-maturely. If you're going to drive in a lot of snow or wet conditions, I'd get the sipped.
