Yeah, earlier on saturday I called a few shops, it was $1051 and $1072 for my 245's. Crazy what tires cost now. Kinda makes you wonder, when someone can sell then for $636 and turn a profit, but it costs $400 to mount balance and align.

i thought the duratracs had grip everywhere on almost any type of terrain but seemed to wander a bit on the freeway and around town. i would attribute this to all of the siping that the tire has.

i ran the tire with the factory suspension and perfect alignment and mine where 265-70-17 c load range and 32 psi of pressure.

on a side note i have a set of 295 e load range nitto trail grapplers and while i love these tires they are absolutely on the stiff side e load range tires will= a much stiffer riding tire no questions asked. they and correct me if i'm wrong are deigned for vehicles of much heavier weight.

You are correct in that E rated tires are designed for heavier weight, but incorrect that an E will equal a much stiffer ride with no questions asked.

My E Duratrac's ride as soft as every C I have ever run. In fact, if you read reviews on Duratrac's on any tire site, you'll find that people frequently complain of E rated Duratrac's riding TOO soft.

I would have payed that!! but mine were over $1050 local, and I have smaller tires. If all goes well I should have $676 into it after the goodyear rebate. I am VERY happy with that. And here they are!!!

That's the reason why you're running way too low a tire pressure. My Duratracs are all on 38 psi and there is ZERO highway wandering.

I'd have to agree with you here :spy: When I first got mine they looked almost flat at stock pressure so I bumped them up to 42 psi for highway mileage (wander city). Put them back to stock pressure and they handle alot better.

I have them at 38 in the rear and 40 up front. If it dries up enuf today I may go try the chalk test. My main concerns are mileage and wear. I don't drive the thruway much so not that worried.
