Need some help!

I am looking to buy my dad some tires for x-mas. I am looking for all season or all terrain for his 98 taco xtra/cab v6. I believe his factory tires are 225/75/15. I believe I can fit 235/75/15s on. I have browse through here and there is a lot of different options but I am still unsure of which tires to buy.

Here is a brief info on what I am looking for in tire wise.
I am looking for longevity, traction, mainly on road, maybe once a week off road, camping, hunting, type of off road, etc.. Traction for all weather conditions.

I have a few tires in mind but have no experience with these tires.

Michelin LTX M/S 2
DuraTrac
BFG All-Terrain T/A KO


If there is any other tires, please let me know.

 

Duratracs out of those. Welcome to the site. There is ALOT of info on here about tires and wheels.

 

Thank you for your input.. how are your experiences with the DuraTracs?
Also, I am going through most of the treads on here looking for inputs on different tires.

I have only been running BFG ATs on all my trucks since 1994.

I don't have any experience with any other all terrain tire as these are, and always will be, the only tire I ever use.

I had 31 x 10.5 on my full size Bronco, then 33 x 12.5 on the same truck after the 4" lift

And I'm on my 2nd set of 31 x 10.5 on my Tacoma. First set lasted 105,000 miles... and still were going up the mountain passes in winter and off road with no problems.

 

which BFG's are you running on and would recommend?

 

also forgot to add. how long and how many miles did you get out of your duratracs?

 

Okay, any personal experiences with duratracs and silent armor?

I havent seen or read about any BFGs being as good then the duratracs or silent armor.

please any info will help. I am looking to buy some tires asap.

 

BGF All Terrain KO, 31 x 10.5

My 1st gen Tacoma is a xtra cab, TRD, stock.

The 31 x 10.5 are considered slightly oversized for stock, and with this truck being considered light in weight, the tires tend to last a relatively very long time.

I get them siped to help push rain and slush out from underneath the tire. At no point in any of my hundreds of drives in brutal wintry conditions on mountain passes did I feel unsafe. In fact I feel very secure.

These tires also prove to be incredibly capable off road as well.

 

Duratracs are still going strong on my buddys truck we've loved about 30k on them so far the ltx are the best on street not so great on the trail BFG at are decent all around. But the duratracs do everything excellent ... Silent armors my father ran and got horrible mud traction nice on the street and in rain soso in snow but not a good trail tire at all

HOW MANY MILES IS EVERYONE GETTING WITH THEIR DURATRACS?

 

another question 235/70/15 should fitt my dad's factory wheels shouldn't it? since his factory tires were 225, going to 235 shouldnt be a problem.. any inputs?
