Your wording is pretty confusing, but if I understand it correctly: You want to know if a 255mm wide tire will fit on a 16" rim? If that is what you're asking, you're talking apples and oranges. The diameter of the wheel(16") has nothing to do with the width of the tire. We need to know what width wheel you're looking at, not diameter. Also, 5x135 is the bolt pattern.

Now I digress; the quick answer from what you've described so far is: Yes - regardless of the width of the wheel, if it will take a 235, it will also take a 255 just fine.

Im looking at tire racks site and all it says is a 156 inch rim but it says reccommebded tire size is 235mm.. but I know both mine and his stock wheels are 16s but take 255 or 265mm so im guessing its a thinner width wheel but im gonna call today and get everything squared away

    What?

What year F-150's? they changed bolt patterns a few years ago. Both 98's?

And I'm still pretty confused as to what you are doing here. Could you please explain further and in more detail?
