Question 16" wheel with a Pro Comp 6" lift?

I have read that our trucks need a minimum 17" wheel to clear the knuckle on a Pro Comp 6" lift......is it not possible to run 1.25" wheel spacers & keep my 16" Ivan Stewarts with this lift???

09 and up you need an 18" wheel because of the vsc I've seen some people fit 17s but I doubt a 16 would fit
