Thinking about upgrading to the Trd wheels, see them on eBay daily... Having a big problem with the stock wheel rusting... Yes I keep them clean and dry.

Do the Trd wheels weigh less than the stock wheels???

Through the Internet Im seeing weight claims of60lbs for the Trd wheels and stock tires....

Anyone know the weights of the stockies?

Minimal rust there, it's primarily on the edges of the spokes, where bare metal is exposed, the finish does not extend there, and rust accumulates.

Which TRD wheels are you refering too? Sport wheels 17" / TRD off-roads are 16" I switched from the Steelies to the TRD rims for the FJ (16"). I noticed zero difference in performance or MPG's.

Toyota refinished my '07 Sport wheels after the warranty period was up due to rust issues...worth a shot, unless you're in the market for new wheels. Just sayin'...

Worth it? Not if you need different back spacing for larger tires after a lift or whatever.

post a link or pic of which trd wheel you are referring too so we can help you out. fyi, the fj trd is 23-24lbs and the trd beadlock is 25-26lbs which imo is pretty heavy for a 16" wheel. the overall weight with tire can vary depending on the tire size, type of tire, and tire brand you're using.

See if you can get a set of TRDs from someone getting new wheels (TW Member or Craigslist). I picked up a set from a local on Reno4x4.com for $100.

I thought only TRD Sport Tacos have 17" from '05 to '11 not sure what the '12s get except that the Sports are now 18".
