    08 DCSB TRD Off Road
    My BF Goodrich Rugged Trail tires will need replacing very soon. I am looking for a new set that balances life, fuel efficiency, and off-road. Currently looking at getting the same tires (although I have to replace the current at 35k) or Michelin LTX A/T2s. Any suggestions?

    I don't think there are many people who would voluntarily buy another set of Rugged Trails. At least get some BFG AT's.

    THis ^^^^

    BFG AT's are old tech. They have been unchanged (essentially) for about 30 years. Tires have come along way since they have come out. Nitto makes a great tire, Cooper Zeon LTZ's are very good, as well as Honkook.

    i wont argue with chris about the BFGs being unchanged. but they work great so why change them? im gonna miss them this winter cause im sure the KM2s arent near as good in the snow.

    Hankooks. Had the Nittos. They are noisy and wear quickly. The Hankooks are much quieter and so far are better off road.

    I have a set of Michelin LTX A/T2's with about 15000 on them and they look like new. I am very happy with ride and handling although most of my driving is on the highway.

    They work "middle of the road". They pack up in light mud, have very poor wet weather traction, and are marginal in dirt. The one thing about them is they are strong as fuck. The side affect is....They also ride like shit. Just comparing them to the other tires I have tried. The nittos and Coopers are WAY better in all off road conditions over the BFG's.

    Look at the pic David posted of the truck in the snow/mud. Notice the tread is clear. The BFG's do NOT clear that well in the same conditions.

    supercharged with MCM front kit
    I like my Falken Rockymountain (wildpeaks) inexpensive and seem to do very well for winter driving. I dont have them on my Tacoma though, they are on my Grand Cherokee so they dont see much hard wheeling conditions.

    3" lift. American racing 15'' rims. 33x12.50 BFG A/T tires. tool box. ARB bumper, mile marker winch, kc highlights. No carpet inside sprayed with bed liner. Kicker door speakers. Alpine head unit.
    General grabber at2, or Firestone destination A/T. Michelin are too expensive :p. So are bfg at's... but I can't complain they work great in all conditions.

    While I said at least get some BFG AT's I do have Duratracs myself. No complaints. Were a little noisy when new but not bad. Awesome in snow and sand which is the extent I've really used them in. Haven't seemed bad in wet road conditions either.

    Just put some Kumho KL61's on and so far they work great wet, dry, or wet clay roads. I dont have enough miles to give a good review... By so far I like them!
