Stock tire is a 265x65x17

Will a 265x70x17 fit and not rub without any mods?

On the 2005-2011's it will fit with no rub , I'm sure the 2012's should be the same .

Yes, the 265x70,s are about 1 inch taller and just as wide.

I am a newbie with the truck so forgive my ignorance but am hoping to go to a tire 1 to 1.5 inches taller.

The answer is yes , 265/70/17 will fit no problem
