Not sure if it was mentioned, but his F250 also weighs twice as much as your Taco. He's squishing straight down to the solid stuff on the bottom.

That said, get some MTZs and call it a day. :p

BF Goodrich KM2's are an excellent tire. I made the jump from stock tires to the 255/80/17 KM's and obviously its a world of difference. like most people will say, you'll lose a few MPG's but in my opinion its worth the look and performance when its needed. I have full confidence in my new tires in almost any situtation!!

    Scariest tire? Or scariest driver...

I've got BFG AT KO's on two of my rigs and I have lived in probably the wettest area in the nation and have never had an issue with the tires in the rain or wet streets. My wife like them so much when it's time she's switching from Nitto's to BFG's on her Tundra with a 5.7. Scariest tire in the rain... Me thinks someone was to hard on the skinny pedal

Shit, even in the bay area when it does rain and all the oil comes up on the road my BFG's handle as good as I expect them to on a truck/SUV that weighs in at close to 2.5 tons.

Not really an issue with speed or loosing lateral grip around corners. In 31x10.5 they hydro'd constantly and would cause the antilock brakes to pump when stopping abruptly. I replaced those with Kumho Road Ventures and they had absolutely no problems in wet conditions, however I only got like 20k out of them so they weren't a great value. Also, note that I drive like an old man - speed limit and baby the gas pedal, always searching for best MPG.

Had a bit of snow this morning so I got to test out the Rugged Trails a bit. They were exactly "ok". Better than Dunlop Grandtreks at least.

I'm finding out that that it is very hard to locate a light tire capable of good mud traction and highway MPG.

I found the BFG to be not as good in rain too. Driver input is key, but compared to my Michelin LTX M/S they were garbage. Big thing is they don't have any circumferential channels to void water so they're more prone to hydroplaning in comparison.

But again...if you're out driving your vehicles safe handling you should recognize and compensate accordingly.
