    All,

Need a fairly quick answer (if possible): are 1st Gen and 2nd Gen wheels and tires interchangeable?

That is, would 265/70/16 wheels and tires from a 2nd Gen fit on a 1998, and vice versa, would the 31/10.5/15 (6 lug) from a 1998 fit on a 2nd Gen? I know the overall dimensions are about the same, but I don't know much about the bolt patterns, backspacing, and brake clearance on the two.

And are all 1st Gen (through 2004) interchangeable?

    Thanks!

    Yes
The second gen wheels will fit the 1998 but the backspacing is less (more tucked in). 15 inch wheels will not fit a second gen.

    Thanks... actually found out that I need to confirm if a 6-lug on a 98 Tacoma 4x4 (31x10.5x15) is the same as a 6-lug on a 94 4x4 (265x70x16).

If anyone knows, please let me know! Thanks!
