How big w/ out a lift?

This may be a stupid ? but would anyone know off hand how much bigger (plus 1,plus2,etc.) that you can go tire/wheel size w/out having to get a lift? I have a 2008 trd off road double cab. Or can anyone recommend a good place to go? i went by discount tires but they weren't much help

Should be able to get a 265/75 with no problem. Maybe some minor rubbing.

 

Tons of threads with this question but, yes a 265/75R16 is the max size, or an equivalent like a 265/70R17, etc. with aftermarket wheels you may have to either trim or remove your mudflaps to keep from rubbing depending on the backspace/offset, on a stock wheel i dont think there's an issue with it.

 

I installed BFG A/T KO tires 265/70/17's on MotoMetal 955's and there is a lot of rubbing. I'm gonna remove the mud flaps, at least until I install Bilstein 5100's.

 

Well, I removed the mud flaps. No dice. Still rubs quite a bit. I guess I'm gonna have to take it easy until I can get a couple of Bilstein 5100's installed up front.

 

Might be your backspacing that's causing the rubbing. Do you know what it is? Wheel spacers might help depending on what the backspacing already is.

 

The backspacing on the wheels is 4.53". Here are the specs...

Moto Metal 955

• 17x9, 6 on 5.5 Bolt Pattern
• Backspace 4.53 in.
• Max Load = 2200lbs

• Hubcentric = No
• Offset = -12 mm

 

My friend has TRD Sport with BFG TA KO 265/70/17 on stock 17 x 7.5" alloys. Really fills the wheel well, no rubbing of any kind.
