bfg a/t's are amazing aired down in the snow, so I'd imagine good in the sand too.
they even recommend it on their website for the best traction.

I use to use bfg all terrains when I lived back east and they were awsome in hatters sugar sand that loved to swallow up huge trucks with swampers or mudders. The nitto all terains worked pretty good down in mex on my Tacoma. (bfg's) were on my old ford trucks.

I have read that all terrain tires do better than mud terrain tires because they tend to float better. Of coarse slapping a set of paddles on is best

A/T tires generally will do better than M/Ts because muds tend to dig in. Obviously a purpose built sand tire would be best, just not always practical.

Yeah I know. I cant justify buying two tires and rims just to use in the sand. I have been eyeing those baja T/A's though
