tire pressure too high

i recently got new firestone tires and my shop put about 10 psi more then the truck says, the truck says it only needs 29 psi but we put 40 and the tire says dont put over 44 psi. is this a problem? i does feel like they turn a little easier but tell me what yall think, problem or not!

 

Go by the psi on the tire(having a little less than max is better, unless you are hauling heavy loads). The truck calls for said psi but it is for the tires that come with the truck, not aftermarket.

 

so if the tire calls for 44 psi max cold what do you think between 35-40 psi?

 

somewhere around there... It's all about personal preference really, depends on what you use the truck for.

I don't know what Firestones you have, but I have mine at 34psi. I did the chalk lines and found that's where it should be.

 

ill try that, how far did you drive it before you checked it

 

Drive down your street, a few hundred feet should do it. They say in the link above to drive a quarter mile but it doesn't need to be that far.
