Yes the stock flaps are still on, no rubbing very close. I did some off road trails nothing crazy, din't take off the sway. They work well for me. I think up by you i'd go with the KM2's. When i'm in Hayward we will get 3-6" of snow some days & they did the job. Back in Illinois it's just wet.
It's hard to tell you how well they do in snow because you might have wet thick, or light. Up north it's colder and the snow is light but under the snow the road is ice. South it's heavy and they use salt so they cut into snow to the road.
I did drive 28 miles in a snow trail got a little crazy at times that's when the KM's would have been better (much better).

To all those who helped out and gave your opinions: Thanks!
To those who tell me to search: FU

Somethimes you just need a couple opinions to come to a decision. If you don't like hearing the same old posts then don't read them.

Thanks to kcbmx, Mr.Ed, Colinb17, haddix, Bill17, and all others with useful input. I went with 255/85/16 km2 on stock rims. I drive this truck daily about 20mi and live on the beach right now. Getting ready to PCS to Tucson in a couple months. The deciding factor was mpg and keeping my stock rims. Discount Tire convinced me that the sidewalls (285's) on stock rims would be bulging out and therefore weaken the tire. You would be riding on the center of the tire very hard no matter what psi you ran, he said. My biggest concern with 255's was the noise and tread life. I almost went with 265/75/16 but wanted something a little different (+wanted the height from 255's).

Thanks again you guys. I've been impressed overall with the comraderie so far with this website.

Looks awesome, have anymore pictures? Maybe some front on ones to see how skinny they are?

No problemo. Glad to hear you chose the 255's I think you will be very pleased with them.

They aren't super skinny. They fit the stock wheels nicely.

255/85/16's are sick. Unique. I like skinny tires better than the "wide" tire look

I didn't. I actually went down from 285's to 265's, couldn't be happier. 255's are to narrow for my taste, just doesn't look right...

I had found a link to another forum like expeditionportal or something on a writeup on the Toyo M55's that was the most helpful write up Ive ever seen. Its not the one that has the 255 at 9" and 285 at 12" with the surface impact or whatever. This one was showing all 3 wheels next to each other (255,265,285). Plus it had different brands and the tire weights in each size all in one link. Whoever could find that writeup would be the man. I found it through a previous post here. Been searching for hours to help out everyone but cant find it. Standby...
