Well, my TPMS light is finally out. Made a trip back to discount tire
to let them check and see if all my valve stems were transmitting. Took 2 hours of vacation time to go, only to find out that they're "reader" wasn't new enough to work. Burnt another hour going to a toyota dealer to get them checked out, after they said they could do it under an hour, only to find out after I got there that they would now need 2+ hours to check them. Said piss on it, and gave up for a few days. Got an appointment for today, took the day off to take it in. They found the problem, left front valve stem was about busted off, from the new tire installed a couple weeks ago. $195 later, I went back to discount tire, 1hour round trip, with the bill, and they decided that they would claim that there wasn't enough cash around to pay me and they couldn't write a check. Told the guy that I had about $400 in lost wages wrapped up in this tire situation, because of they're installers accident with my valve stem. He pulled out his wallet, and gave me the money (he was the owner/manager I guess).
So, no more light! Checked my air pressure, cuz dealerships all seem to use the el'cheapo pop out pressure gauges, and set them all at 33psi. After several hours, I walkd by the truck and see that the left front looks low! Sure enough, lost about 4psi in about 4 hours. The outside valve stem collar was barely hand tight (holds the stem in place, and has a large black o-ring that seals on the inside of the rim). I tightened it "snug", reset to 33psi, and will see if it holds. What fun this is!
