265/70R17 vs. 265/65R17 - Effect on MPG

I am looking at going with the BFG Rugged Terrain as my truck is used on the highway only but I like the more aggressive look. My question is would the 70 series give me worse MPG due to being a bit heavier or would it be offset by the taller size and lower RPMs?

I ran the stockers for 1k miles & was getting 19-21 mpg constantly, switched to BFGs 265/70s & still getting about the same mileage but couldn't get back to 21 just hovered around 20.

I have 265/70/17 and sit right at 20. Got 22.5 on a road trip to Florida running about 65-70 all the way. So you won't notice much difference if any

With the 70 series, I noticed slightly better MPG's on the highway and no noted losses in town.

go for the 70s you will appreciate the slightly more aggressive look from the 1.25" or so. Most won't recognize the difference, but you will.
