Gen 2 245/75R16 or 265/75R16 Duratracs?

My daughter just bought a 2011 Tacoma 4x4 with crappy tires mounted on them (Dunlop AT 20 GrandTrek). I told her for her birthday I would buy her new tires.

I decided to buy her a set of Goodyear Duratracs. Her tire size is 245/75/R16. My question is should I stick with that size or move up to 265's?

Please let me know your pro's and con's of staying at 245's or moving up to 265's.

Here is a picture of her truck:

265s for sure.

Have the duratracs on mine, might not ever buy a different tire.

EDIT:

Only con would be loss in MPG's but the pros of increased badassery wins in a blow out

That is what I was thinking on the 265's. I put 265 Duratracs on my wife's Hummer and they look badass!!!

265/75's look pretty beefy in the duratrac..... I just put a set on mine, and I'm pleased with everything so far, but wish I woulda went with 6 ply over the 10, cause they ride rough and feel heavier.

Great advice folks! I'll recommend the 265's to her but ultimately it is her call. I will post a pic of the final decision when they are mounted on her Tacoma.

265's. I just went from 245's to 265's. They look better, fill the wheel wells better, make the truck look better and the speedo is accurate now

If its a 4cyl then stay with 245, if its a 6cyl 265 FTW.

It's a 6 cyl. I am leaning towards the 265's since they will fill the wheel well better and make her truck look awesome.

I didn't notice a MPG change in my 4cly when I went from 245/75's to 265/70's. Now when I went to my current 265/75's I lost 1-2 MPG.

I tried the 32" tires with my 4cyl and lost a few MPG so went back. I dont think the 6cyl is hurt as much.
