TPMS From Stock Steelies fit Mickey Thompson Aluminum Wheels

Getting ready to pull the trigger on some Mickey Thompson Classic II's. Just curious if anyone has any first hand experience with the TPMS sensors from the stock steelies and if they'll fit these new rims. If not, I'll go with the band around the rim. Thanks.

from what i've read on TW, the TPMS on the stock steel wheels will not work on any aluminum wheels. You need the TPMS from the stock aluminum wheels to work with aftermarket aluminum wheels.

 

Ask discount tire (or wherever you go) to try to turn the tpms 180 degrees. I have heard a couple of success stories from this.

 

They can 180 them or strap them to the inner part of the wheel from what I've heard.

 

I tried having the shop turn them 180 on the wheels I have now. It didn't work and at that point it was too late to get straps cause my tires were off my old wheels. So right now I have a sensor light on. Just trying to avoid that again. Maybe I'll just buy the straps to be safe. I can always sell them for a little return if I don't need them.
