Lug nuts - how many turns?

    So the .25" spacers that Wheelers Offroad sells are bad? Its only a 1/4" and I have the ET lugnuts. I just want the extra clearance from the calipers

    1/4", you're probably okay, but I would get some longer lug nuts to be safe.

    Unless you have no access to a torque wrench or a tire shop, this is not a good idea. While most vehicles' torque specs are in the 90lb range, using 100 as a general rule of thumb for all vehicles is not smart.

    There are many, many common vehicles, especially trucks, that call for well over 100lbs of torque, and only tightening to 100lbs is a recipe for disaster. There are also many cars that call for much less than 100lbs, and over-tightening is very damaging, and dangerous.

    IIRC, my '06 Duramax (2500HD) required 130.
    I remember that I bought a torque wrench specifically for that truck because I didn't have anything that went over 120.
