MT classic locks

These are 16x8 bolt is 6-5.5 back spacing is 4 and offset is -12

I have seen people say that they have problems getting them to fit and have to grind calipers, others say they fit fine. I have a 2005 Tacoma prerunner TRD sport double cab. does anyone know if they will fit?!? i dont want to grind down my caliper. Thanks for the help!

Chances are, without spacers, you're going to grind. Maybe even with spacers

 

the guy at 4WP was telling me that 17x9's cause problems at freeway speeds. something about wobbles because of the 9 inch tire. but im starting to think they don't really know what their talking about based on the way they talk down to me haha

 

4wp is sometimes right but most of the time I don't get what there say

 

just called MT... they said there is no way the 16x8 will fit and the 17x9 are a maybe... -_-

 

Im pretty sure that Rcfreak has 16" MT classics on his truck. I think the classics are the same wheel as the classic locks just without the outer ring.

 

This guy has 16"s. You could pm him and ask if he had to do any grinding.

 

MT told me that Toyota changed the caliper size based on the year model and on my 05 there is no way 16's would fit. so im currently looking into OMF they will put simulated beads on almost any wheel. I have a Rad Red taco should i go black wheels with red locks or just all black?

A good rule of thumb is to believe the exact opposite of anything 4wp says.

PSU taco 85 has them and they fit, but for many people they have tired them and they don't fit....so....

Classic lock 16x8 have a different offset than classic ii 16x8. Classic lock seem to fit most tacomas in 16s, if not go 17s. That's what I have and they ride fine on the highway (4wp doesn't have a f@&king clue what going on)

 

Nope, I've been keeping track of it in my head since people first started noticing this issue a couple of years back. Identical wheels identical specs, same trucks, some clear some don't....

and the people at mickey T said there is no way the 16's will fit on my 05. and the 17's were a maybe. dont really wana drop 800 on a maybe =( ugh why is picking wheels so stressful iv been at it for a week and still cat decide lol.

KMC Enduros are badass if you can find them. They look better than those Procomps, IMO.

 

i have the MT classics in 16. With a -21 offset they will be fine.

 

Back in my IS300 days, there were alot of rims with caliper rubbing issues very much like the Tacomas. Some members spokes hit the calipers and others didn't, and we basically attributed it to how much brake pad wear each member had. The ones that had an older set of pads cleared the caliper by just a few mm, enough to make them fit. Other members that had the exact same year, model, and wheel, but with a fresh set of front pads always hit the caliper. The only solution was either get spacers, grind the calipers, or get the proper wheel size.

 

lol proper wheel size still sounds like the most logical solution to this problem haha
