Finally committed to a new set of wheels, and tires.

I was looking at several wheels, a couple of which were Level 8 models. I went with these two Strike Six, and the P265/65 R17 Falken Rocky Mountains.

I'm super stoked with this setup with both looks, and ride. After months of going back, and forth of which combo to go with I finally went back to one of the first pairs I was thinking about. The looks are great, the wheels came with quite a bit of offset so the push well out beyond the flares.

I was digging around I guess these don't have a P/passenger car rating, or a LT rating like the 245/75. Maybe they aren't suited for use on motor vehicles? Hopefully I won't find this out at 80 mph on the freeway, or way out in the middle of no where with only chewing gum, and old gram crackers of my daughters to tied me over as I walk 30 miles down the logging road hoping I don't see one of those cougars that seems to show up every time I seem to get out of my truck.

Turns out the 265/70 r16, and the 245/75 r17 are both LT's but this model is made for roller coaster cars, or something.

Who knew....?

Either way they are the next best thing to getting a real genuine Viking helmet, and a brand new pair of moon boots.

No seriously, these tires aren't rated as either Passenger car, or Light Truck unlike two other Falken Rocky Mountains with very similar sizes.

I wonder if these are actually a different lay up then the 245/75 r17 or 265/70 r16?

I don't see anywhere these advertised as P or LT, nor is there P or LT on my sidewalls.

Yeah, I'm definitely hopped up on new tire smell.

Tomorrow I'll see if I can find somebody in the know about these tires. I really don't even mind if they are built like Passenger car tires, they road pretty decent on the way home this evening.

 

I got info for a Discount Tires fella saying these Certain tires are rated in the European Metric category they are graded between P, and LT somewhere, or an other. Considering I would have been fine with P rated, this is all good.

The tires seemed to ride plenty soft, gotta do a little highway driving latter today I should get more of a feel for them. I'm pretty stoked with the looks that's for sure.
