what could be wrong with my Pro comps?

So i just got new 17x8 pro comp 7089 wheels with 265/70/17 nitto terra grapplers put on today. I love the wheels and tires but i have noticed a vibration in the stearing wheel and seats. I do not have a lift kit installed yet but want to know what i can start to do to fix the problem. Any help would be great.

Road force balance the tires.

For the pro comp 7089 17x8 does anyone know what hub centric rings I would need. Have been doing reading and I think this will help. However I can not find the hub centric ring size.

Toyota hubs are too big. The hub centric rings are for chevy's.

Like I said before, the problem is with the balance. Factory wheels are hub centric. Most aftermarket wheels are lug centric. Whoever did your balance most likely ran you gear through a hub centric spin without putting on a lug adapter, let alone doing a road force balance.

Find someone close by that has a Hunter Road Force balancer and you'll be set.

Feh. Don't do it. Don't compound your problems. Fix your tire/wheel related vibration first. THEN install your lift.

One problem at a time to identify fix and solve is much easier than multiple complicating unintended consequences.

Well even more reading and i think the problem my also be because of my lugnuts. They installed non shanked lugnuts. The ones in the pics are what they installed.Would it be worth it to buy shanked?

That shouldn't cause a balance problem, but you should definitely running extended thread lugs with aftermarket wheels.

If your thread engagement is less than the diameter of the stud, you are at risk of losing a wheel.

So i just bought these. Hope there better? Also does it matter that my tires stock where 265/65/17 and now i have 265/70/17?

Did you get it fixed, if it's not the balance, the wheel center could be off, the quality control of wheels is really poor, my dealer said he recently sent back 2 of 4 wheels because the wheel center was off.

The machine shop I used to work at couldn't make a set of wheels for less than $5000, how do you sell a wheel for $145, and make a profit.

This is kind of a silly argument... how many people do you know that spend $5,000 on a set of wheels unless they're racing and need perfect tolerances?

If your machine shop were set up for high volume production, and not a one time thing, they could make a set of wheels for WELL under $5k.

I have pro comps, hub rings are needed at least for mine they were a 106mm to 108mm I think. Fixed all my issues. Problem is even though our trucks are lug centric the skinny lugs aren't enough to fully center and support the wheel hence the vibrations. If you look the oem lugs you'll see why.Plus try and use thicker wheel weights for truck tires, more weight in the area needed for the weight so the shop is constantly not counter balancing just my 2 cents.

my guess its because your wheels are:

not balanced correctly
they are not hub centric

and a combo of the above
