Looking for steel winter wheels.

Forgive my ignorance here, but my '05 TRD off-road came with P265/65R17 tires and rims. First off, I believe my truck came stock with 16" wheels (according to the door sticker), but I'm unsure. I am looking for a set of black, steel winter rims, but pickings are slim (and expensive).

I think I can use rims from an FJ Cruiser. Am I correct, if so is there a range of model years I should be looking at?

Most of the Toyota 16" 6 lug OEM rims fit both alloy & steel. There are many pics here of folks running FJ wheels on their tacomas.
Usually it is a highly sought wheel full black.
You can also buy a set of steel silver & paint them black or plasti dip them. That is a popular option & the silver are easier to find.
Also...
The wheel pic you posted are factory 1GEN Tundra or Sequoia wheels.
They did not come factory on a Tacoma. I have seen a few with them on. It was a nice looking wheel.
It was on their non-trd package for sidewall height thus why the Off Road (not sport) come in 16"

Lastly as a 05 you do not have to worry about the tire pressure monitors!!!!!!!

I've done some searching, but am still fairly confused. 17" steel wheels for a Tacoma have been elusive to this point. If I were to go 16", what size tire would I need to avoid speedometer issues?

If you choose the right tire for your 16" wheel, you can keep the same overall diameter that your truck is rolling on. In this case the speedo will not be at all affected

 

ie: a 265/65/17 tire on 17" wheel(obviously) has the same overall diameter at a 265/75/16 tire on 16" wheel . They both have 30.5" overall diameter

 

Still looking for 16" or 17" rims preferably black -- maybe a little narrower than stock as they'd be specifically winter wheels.

NE area preferred.
