Stock 17" Sports painted Anthracite on MGM?

So I posted a thread in the 2nd Gen forum and got no response. So, I thought I'd try here. (Mods: Sorry for duplicate)

I'm wondering if any 2nd Gen owners with an MGM Taco painted the stock 17" Sport wheels anthracite/gunmetal? I did this to my 17" Sport wheels on my 2009 SSM Taco and it looked great. Just not sure how it will look on my 2012 MGM.

I'd say just go for it and do it! I think it would look sick!

 

That's kinda what I'm thinking. But, I know that if I paint them black, they will look great too. Plus, I already put the Black FJ TRD center caps on order with my local dealer. Of course, I could always sell those here or on eBay and then buy the FJ TRD Anthracite center caps again, like I did for the 2009 SSM

 

Yeah agreed but I think the gunmetal would look more original so I would try that first. Then if you dont like it, which I doubt, then you can always paint them black after.

 

Good point. Although, I like the wheels to kind of contrast and accent the truck. My accents theme is Red, Silver and Black. Just like on my 2009. I wish I could see a MGM with the stock 17's painted to match. That would really help me decide.

Dupli-Color Graphite wheel coating. You can buy it at autozone in the spray paint cabinet. It's specifically made for wheels.

 

I like the anthracite/gunmetal on mgm!
My MGM tundra has the rock warriors that color.

I don't have any pictures of gunmetal on an MGM, but I think you convinced me to powercoat my FJ wheels anthracite instead of matte black. Your silver tacoma with gunmetal wheels look awesome!

 

did a test run today on a spare rim off my dads tundra and it was so easy to do, now i just need to find the time to do the tacomas.

 

Do it while nobody else has. I think it would look good.

 

did you paint your lug nuts or buy ones that color?

 

wish i could have gotten a hold of these and maybe traded before you got rid of the 09

 

I used the factory silver ones. They reflected the color of the wheels so well they (the lugs) looked gun metal too.
