im looking for some rims with very little backspacing (to get the wide look so i can put fiberglass fenders on) i want them black and to have that simpla rock crawler steelie look. not real expensive because im 16 and make minumum wage. so any ideas? i was looking at pro-comps but they arent hub centric and dont have the rings u can snap in to make them fit properly. so my choice right now is wheelers type B (4" backspace)

just make sure whatever "rims" you get come with spokes and wheels. rims by themselves are pretty useless

on a first gen, you don't need hub centric, and most wheels that are hubcentric from 4WP seem to be for chevy center bore and are not big enough for the tacoma...

if you want the simple rock crawler style, look into the D Window black steels in a 4" backspace in 16x8 or 3.75" backspace in 15x7...

if you want to go a bit more extreme, you can get the same wheels in as low as 2.5" backspace...

you can run a 4" backspace on stock arms and then go with some 3.5" flare glass fenders and the wheels and tires will sit flush... in these pics below, i had 4" backspace black steel D Window wheels from ProComp with Cooper STT 285-75-16 and glassworks 3.5" glass fenders...

2.5" backspace might be too much... i say stick with 4" or 3.75" at most...

I don't know how Pro Comp's prices are but I got Cragar D-Windows (they look identical to Mike's, except they have a little red and blue pin stripe around them) from Jeg's and they were $50 apiece shipped... Pretty darn cheap. I can't say for sure what sizes they have in 6 lug but I had all kinds of options for my 5 lug.
